Let me start by saying....

my little boy is one tough cookie! A little background. He came into this world on a wonderful Wednesday evening. More like he was forced into this world. I was induced 4 weeks early and gave birth to a relatively healthy little boy. He weighed in at a whopping 4 pounds 9 ounces. He was so strong for being early. No IV's, incubators, oxygen. He was just a bad little sucker! He was in the hospital for a week so he could learn how to eat. Then we came home and all was well for a whole year. He was the best baby! Then he started having tight chest issues and had to have numerous breathing treatments. He was hospitalized in August of 2006 with pneumonia. He was such a trooper even after they poked him and he was attached to an IV for 2 days. The day before Christmas Eve his little chest started to get tight. I began his treatments like normal, but as the day progressed he hadn't gotten any better. So, off to Urgent Care we went. We were there from 9:30pm to 11:30pm trying to pump him with steroids and beefed up breathing treatments so he didn't end up in the hospital again. We got his oxygen levels to 90, up from 87, and went home with antibiotics. He was such a trooper! They even stuck both of his legs with needles. He wasn't happy but we got to come home. If his levels would have continued to stay below 90 we would have spent Christmas at the hospital. He had pneumonia again, but we caught it in the early stages and were able to treat it.
So the reason behind this little story is today we were back at Urgent Care. Todd's eyes looked like this...

Freaky, I know! Flaming red and glossed over. I realize my kid looks like he's on drugs and even a little possessed, but he's not. As we walked into the the office he said, "Mom, they aren't going to poke my legs?" I said, "No, not this time." and snuggled him a minute. He ended up having some sort of virus in his eyes. Where he got that I will never know! They gave me some more drugs, this time it was ointment for his eyes. He loved having me stick my finger in his eye! Thank goodness all the breathing treatment stuff has taught him that medicine makes him feel better.

For such yucky looking eyes, he's sure a trooper!
On a totally different note, why does stuff like this always happen on the weekend? It would have cost me far less to take him to his doctor. So in the past 2 weeks we have been to Urgent care twice and Walgreen's twice. I think we have become their best customers!
Breakdown:
Urgent Care copy 50 bucks x's 2
Medicine 10 bucks x's 4, Walgreen's at midnight and it's cold and my kid is sick!
A better feeling kid Priceless!
Have a happy day! Hopefully we'll stay clear from Urgent Care for a while.
My debit card needs a break!

Poor kid! I hope he gets feeling better. I'm glad you caught it all early though. Christmas in the hospital does not sound fun.

AWW! Todd's still cute, even with demon eyes! Seriously, I think I would FLIP OUT if my child had eyes like that. I'm glad it was relatively not serious.

P.S. THANK THANK THANK YOU for letting Rocky come and hook up our speakers! I thought it would never get done, but he is really a superhero and you are super for letting him stay over here so long!

I went to Urgent Care and Walgreens that Saturday too! Luckily we only had to wait like an hour. It was an ear infection, but that eye infection looks fierce!
