One Small Momemt

Yesterday I was talking to my mom. It was about 4:30pm and I was heading to the gym. Todd had fallen asleep, which he tends to do every time we get in the car after 4pm. I was telling her I felt silly trying to get him to take naps anymore because he's almost 5 years old and I have to rock him to get him to fall asleep. She told me that I should take the time to
rock him because one day he won't let me.
Today, I rocked him. My day had gotten crazy, and I needed him to sleep. As I sat in my rocking chair with him laying against my chest, I remembered what my mom had said. Then I remembered this sweet book. The mother sneaks into her son's room every night even when he is grown, rocks him and sings, "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always. As long as I'm living my baby you'll be." As I was rocking him, I sang it to him, too. I know one day he'll not want to rock with me, so today I decided, as silly as it is, to rock him as long as he'll let me. They grow up too fast, and I don't ever want to look back and wish I had done it more.

such a cute post. I love that book. Sometimes I'm too busy to take the time to sit and snuggle and I know I'll regret it later. Thanks for the reminder!!

I love that book, it makes me cry every time I read it. I try to remember every night when I am putting Jonah to sleep that he isn't going to be small enough for me to rock to sleep for very long so the dishes and laundry can wait while I hold him for a few more minutes.

I would be too afraid to rock Todd with those creepy red eyes peeping at me. Hope they are both feeling better! Love, Aunt Lacey

Love this post. Time flies by and they get big way too fast. I feel like I barely have time to deal with one of them and forget about all four. You just have drop everything and take those moments whenever you can. And I love, love, love this book. I think everytime I read it I cry. But then everything makes me cry.
