Road Rage

Today I had a very scary incident happen. I was driving down the road to pick something up for my sister's baby shower. I was in the middle turn lane waiting to turn left and head north down, let's say Blue Rd. There was a car coming towards me in the far right lane with her blinker on to turn Rt and head north onto Blue Rd. She slowed down and I started to turn.
I quickly realized she had changed her mind. She did not turn her blinker off and began to head straight towards the intersection. I quickly stopped and as she passed me she started screaming at me and layed on her horn. As I turned, I watched my rear view mirror and saw she had pulled into the gas station, then turned out onto Blue Rd heading north.
She was following me! I kept watching my mirror and she coming up behind me fast and then pulled up next to me, screaming at me. Then I noticed she had a young girl in the back seat with her. We approached the next light and she proceeded to get in front of me, so I got into the far right lane. So she tried to also. I got back into the left lane, so did she. I was not about to have her follow me, swerve her car in front of me and scream at me!
As we approached the next light I slowed down really slow, then quicky got back into the right lane. She had no choice but to continue through the light. I quickly turned right and started heading east. She swerved across traffic and pulled into a shopping center. There was no traffic coming, so I u-turned in the middle of the road and quickly got back onto Blue Rd heading south. I had lost her and went back to my mom's house to switch her cars.
My heart was pounding and racing and the only thing I could think about was how in the world could someone get that upset? There was no accident, I did not hit her, nor was I close to hitting her. I was aware of what was going on. Maybe I should not have assumed that because she had her blinker on she was turning. My bad! But a blinker is a signal to let people know what is going and where you are turning while driving. But did I deserve that? She could have caused more damage trying to chase me down but I was not going to stoop to that level. She had a child in the car for Pete's sake! I traded cars and headed back to where I was heading in the first place.
As I passed the gas station, she was there. I can only assume she was waiting for me to come back. The child was standing outside the car watching the street. I ran my errand and started for home and she was still there, sitting at the gas station.
This world we live in is a scary one! I'm afraid to see how this sad excuse of a women would react in a situation far more serious than this small account of I almost turned in front of her. Things like this happen everyday and you do not chase people down. If I would have retaliated and played her cat and mouse game a serious accident may have occurred and lives could have been changed forever. No matter how upset I get at stupid drivers I am not willing to take that kind of chance with my life or the lives of my children. I may have been upset or annoyed if that happened to me, but I would have continued on with my day and vented to my husband later. Never, never would I have taken the chance that women took with her child in the back seat.
This has been an eye opener for me. I was scared and every part of me screamed to be cautious and find a way to remove myself from that situation. I feel like I did that. I know I was guided and truly blessed today to have driven away from the situation.

Can you say PHSYCH?? Ok, maybe I can't spell it but that is freaky! The only thing that drives me nuts about living out here is driving with such looney drivers. I have called the cops on two different occasions because of drivers like that (fortunately they didn't follow me though)! You were so smart to switch cars!!

Wow, that is crazy. People out here are the worst drivers. Good thing you switched cars, I don't think I would have done, who would have thought she would be there waiting for you to come back.

Hey there! This has happened to me a couple of times, one time I was actually chased vigorously! It was very scary, glad you did the right thing! There really are so many much more important things in the world!

that is insane..you poor girl, definately did not deserve that! That is scary that she was stalking you & putting you in danger..with no concern for her child. These are the kind of creeps my husband deals with on a daily basis... I don't know how he does it..he is very patient. He would have thrown her crazy butt in jail!! Did you get her license plate?

Geesh Kasey. That is craziness! What a sick woman she is. And I can't believe she was waiting for you at the gas station. I am soooo glad you are safe. And how humble and Christlike of you to not retaliate..cause knowing me, I would've been on her like white on rice (well maybe not if my kids were in the car).

I feel your pain. Today, some stupid kids drove by me and yelled a dirty word at me. People have zero tolerance on the road! People are allowed to make mistakes!

That is freaky! Some people are so mad at the world and have serious anger problems! And I guess I shouldn't complain about 2 naps huh?! One would be horrible- he actually did that today and by the time we were bathing him he was screaming uncontrollably! haha. I just loved the 3 to 4 naps! The shower turned out great! And thanks for holding Jaxon so I could eat!

What the heck? You're tough. You should have fought her and then taken pictures for your blog. Except get her kid safely away first.

What a cukoo banana that woman sounds like! If that happens again call the cops on your cell phone. I can't believe people get so bent out of shape over such small things.
