So for Christmas I wanted to get each of the kids a
Nintendo DS.
My friend said why not do the IPod touch since most games are free and DS games are expensive.
HMMMMMM...so
do I go with the DS times 2?
Or
get another IPod touch since we already have 1?
Thoughts?

I bought a ds a couple years ago for Kiley and the games get lost all the time. Gaige asked for one and I said no way the games will just get lost. I decided if I ever get them anything again it would be the touch. Most games are free, if you do buy them some games they are way cheap and the games don't get lost. So go touch all the way! I am hoping to get some cheap 3rd generations, they don't need the camera.
I am strict about internet access when it comes to my kids. It completely surrounds them everywhere they are and I don't want to make it any easier for them than it already is to get into stuff they don't need to get into. Even though internet access is possible on a DSi, there are some nice parental controls on a DSi that an iTouch does not have. But that's just me.
Okay, I am getting my kids DS's for Christmas. I'm with Beth, I like the control. I actually just bought them off Target online - they have the Nintendo DS XL bundled with all the chargers and a case for 179. It was the best deal I could find on them. Good luck. I hear the DS XL is better than the regular DS because it has a camera and some other fun features, like a bigger screen... Good luck deciding. (Side note, Mike is playing ball with Troy tonight. It's fun having them around us!)
I don't know if it matters or not, but it's actually DSi XL... I left out the "i".
Thanks for all the imput. Still not sure what I'm going to do....
Amber, I'm so jealous you guys to to hang out with my bro! We really miss them! Ok, not really them so much as the kidlets! Give them hugs for us next time you see them!
Geez sista you are so cheap! Get your kids a DS and an i pad touch! Love you
ds all the way!!!
iPod touch!!! You can turn the wifi off and not even worry about it. But the wifi is awesome for using FaceTime at home. My kids use it like a wallkie talkie and they love it. They can also face time grandma up in WA.
