Old Skool

The other night Kylee had no clean PJ's.
I got to thinking and remembered something my brothers and I always did as kids.
We slept in my dad's BIG shirts.
It's a memory I'm so glad I dug out because my kids now think it's the greatest thing to sleep in their dad's BIG shirts.
It's also way cheaper than buying PJ's since these 2 are growing like weeds!
I'm excited for this new tradition.
Traditions and memories are the things that make growing up so much fun.

A friend sent this to me from her wedding over 6 years ago.
It seriously seems like yesterday!

Memory Monday

Looking back both of my kids loved these high heels. They are my favorite pair of heels. Actually, my only pair of heels. Whenever I wear them I think back to the times my kids wore them as toddlers and thought they were big stuff!

Cute cousins

Kylee and Parker at the beach Nov 2007.

Memories---old and new

When Rocky and I got married I have to admit I was scared to death! I don't think I heard a word our sealer said. My heart was pounding so hard and loud. That was 8 years ago.
On Saturday we were able to go with our friends to do sealings. It was their anniversary and made it a tradition to do sealings on their anniversary. It was our first time and I was so excited to feel like I was getting married all over again. It was amazing. I think we're going to make that our tradition too. Why didn't we ever do this before?!?!

Family Matters

Angie (Rocky's cousin), me and Heather

Rocky's girl cousins are great! I knew it before we were even dating because I was friends with his sister Heather first as well as being friends with their cousins. Now, it was not always an easy thing getting in the good graces of his girl cousins. They liked very few, ok, they didn't like one, not one of his girlfriends. When they started telling me I should date Rocky I knew I was in! It's a very good feeling being on the in with the girls cousins. They could be mean! Thanks Keri and Angie for giving me that extra push to date your cousin! I'm so in love. I'm so glad that they still like me and we're all still friends after 8 years of marriage! Our husbands even like each other so that's a plus!

Memory Monday

Out of all my brothers Drew has the sweetest and biggest heart. He's the only one who'll hug me and kiss me on the head every time we get together. Sometimes he smacks my bum cuz that's so how we roll! Now, if you know him you might not know that because he acts big and tough, but he's really a huge softy. Especially for Todd. When he was born he would drive all the way out to our house on Power and Williamsfield to hold him and kiss him. Back in 03 that was far! What I wouldn't give to live there now! Todd loves his Uncle Drewby and they have loads of fun goofing around in the pool, at the lake, the beach, wrestling, on the trampoline, and especially catching lizards. Drew is Todd's "homie" and he'll never forget it! I'm so excited for Drew to be a dad in June. He'll be a great dad...and Tiffany a fantastic mom!

Snug as a Bug

Confession: This makes me a little baby hungry. Just a little. Don't be gettin' any ideas.

Kylee hated baths, but as soon as we bundled her up in a towel she was happy as could be. Todd was the same way. They must be related!

Before Thanksgiving

we went to Mexico! One of my greatest memories from growing up is camping in Mexico. I'm so glad we are able to take our kids and share with them something I loved as a child.

Our family.

Daddy and Todd---my quadin' boys!

Todd and Kylee~~~feelin' the love.

Todd had so much fun riding his little quad up and down the beach.

Todd and Skye enjoying the sand.

Eating Mexican ice cream on the curb. Yum! Just ask these kiddos who asked for it everyday.
Soda is much better in glass bottles. I promise they are!

Grandma taking all the kids on a quad ride.
Grandpa's turn.

Who needs sand toys anyways? Christmas buckets, bowls and measuring spoons work out just fine!
Who's joining us in March?

Kylee---my little chubby cheeked girl

I always wondered how such a little girl could have such chubby cheeks! She weighed a little under 6 pounds at birth, but had these kissable chubby ole cheeks. I could just pinch them all day!
Kylee was 3 months old. This was her first trip to the Garlock family reunion in Colorado. She was not happy about it, but we said tough!

Funny Glasses

It was always a challenge getting this kid to smile for pictures. Guess all I needed was a HUGE pair of glasses to capture his big ole smile. Todd was 2 and we all laughed till our stomachs hurt this night.

Memory Monday

Kylee was 5 months old here. She had finally turned into a good baby. All she wanted to do since she was born was be big and play with Todd. She had learned how to scoot around and was much happier being able to scoot and roll where ever she wanted to go. It was the start of the good baby I knew she had hidden somewhere in her. =) Todd and Kylee bonding in the nude. Very cute!
Kylee wearing dad's hat. This was one of my favorite outfits! Look at those shoes! So cute!

Memory Monday

Todd was 9 months here. He was such a busy baby! Climbed and crawled everywhere! He loved playing in these vertical blinds in my room. Look at his cute bald head! Notice the drool about to drip off his chin! This was my favorite age for him as a baby. He always had his eyebrows raised. He had just started making the funniest faces too. I'll start his next post there...

Memory Monday

This is Kylee as a newborn. It's my favorite picture of her. She looks so peaceful, calm, and still. Which is a first since she is far from being any of those. Since she was born she was a mover and a shaker. She hated to be on her tummy, but learned how to roll over at 2 months so she was always rolling herself over and crying because she was too little to lift her head up all the way. Boy did she try though! By 3 months, just to keep my sanity, I was putting her in the saucer with a blanket stuffed in front of her to keep her from falling over. She never wanted to miss a thing, so she loved it. Until she was 5 months old, from 4pm till she went to bed at 7pm she fussed and cried. She just wanted to be big! So, between propping her in the saucer and carrying her, face out, in the the snuggly we survived until she learned how to scoot herself all over the floor. I'll save the rest of her story for my next post of one of my next favorite pictures.

Memory Lane

I had seen this on a few blogs and thought it would be fun. You go to the 4th folder and the 4th file and blog about that picture. While I was doing that I came across this one. I never did finish getting to the 4th file. This picture was first and it had me from hello.
Todd was about 18 months when this was taken. I remember loving that jean jacket he's wearing and how he thought he was so funny wearing that plastic container on his head. It makes me smile to remember him at that age. I think I'm going to do a Memory Monday each week. I don't want to forget anything, big or small in my children's lives. Look at his goofy grin. Gosh I love this kid!
**I know it's Sunday, so don't you worry I'll be doing a real one tomorrow. This was just a test to see if I had myself a good idea.**
